S. Canon 13 Logo: Entwined in the spiritually historical aspects of California’s famous Mission Trail, the name Canon 13 is derived from the vineyard’s proximity to Nuestra Señora de la Soledad, the 13th mission on the Trail. The Franciscan monks who settled in the area during the 18th century planted the first vineyards. Inspired by their vows of hard work and higher purpose we set out to create a distinct mark that would pay homage to their humble, genuine, hand-crafted sensibilities. The iconography evokes a simple yet sophisticated presence, with its angles and arches echoing the mission-style architecture of the period. The mirrored C letterform and numeral 3 shapes serve to cap and enclose the entire shape in a distinctive way. And the elements double in flexibility to stand alone smartly as a single unifying mark.
