A. Pike & Rose Mural: The entrant was hired for this large-scale mural by placemaking experts, Foreseer. As a major entry point to a new, mixed-use neighborhood in North Bethesda, MD, the challenge was making a four-story wall attractive today and long-term without context of the adjacent buildings under development.
The area is recognized for its rich diversity of bird types. Familiar with the entrant’s complex, colorful, and inspiring work, Foreseer knew it was worth magnifying. The results have been extremely successful and gained wide attention from visitors, while offering a message of beauty, connection, and welcome.
