A. The Boeing Century: When journalists try to write about the history and importance of Boeing in the Puget Sound region, they have to think big.
That’s exactly what Sound Publishing’s newspapers did.
The aviation giant was marking its 100th year, and we gave our customers a great keepsake. “The Boeing Century” was 48-page special section, printed in two parts, with a press run of 425,000 copes that reached over 894,000 readers at 21 of Sound’s newspapers.
The publication was rich with historic photos and accounts of the people, products and events that made Boeing great — a great corporation, a great employer, and a great neighbor. In addition to looking back over 100 years with pride (and some nostalgia), reporters analyzed the turning points in the company’s development, and identified some of the great things that may lie ahead.
This was a gem of a section … a great anniversary gift to The Boeing Co. and the region that it calls home.
