K. Great American Eclipse Flight: Catching a glimpse of a total solar eclipses is rare. While they occur somewhere on Earth every 18 months, they occur at any given place only once every 360 to 410 years and lasts for only a few minutes at any location. In 2017, Alaska Airlines and the entrant created a once-in-a-lifetime experience to witness the Great American Eclipse from a special charter flight that flew directly into the path of Totality at 10am PST on August 21, 2017. Filmed entirely on GoPro cameras, the experience was documented and shared on YouTube and social media hours after landing, garnering more than 500k views in less than 24 hours and more than 2.5 million views to date.
