F. Columbia Bank Warm Hearts Winter Drive Campaign: The entrant coordinated the design and manufacturing of 1,000 custom “Warm Hearts Winter Drive” neck scarves for Columbia Bank, and distributed them to Bank employees who purchased them with the right to wear them on six corporate casual Wednesdays. The purpose of the scarves was to bring attention to the Warm Hearts Campaign to collect warm clothing items and money for people affected by homelessness.
The Bank’s fund-raising Goal for 2016 was to raise $160,000, and they actually raised $209,400. This was a 30.8% increase over their goal and a 32.8% increase over their 2015 fundraising. In addition to the financial impact, the bank also collected 8,140 warm articles of clothing for the homeless. All of the money and clothing were distributed to 54 local shelters throughout Columbia Bank’s three-state market footprint.
Columbia Bank Customers who observed the scarves and asked about them were encouraged to contribute money or warm items to the Warm Hearts Winter Drive. The money paid for the scarves above the cost of production raised $5,050 dollars and is included in the $209,400 figure.”
