J. Kitsap Bank Stadium Video #causegood: South Kitsap High School, located in Port Orchard, Washington (a town of approximately 13,000), was in desperate need of a new athletic field. Field conditions were so deplorable that the school was forced year after year to rent other facilities for most of its “home” games. PE classes were not allowed to use the field. The school’s award-winning marching band was unable to use the field for practice. Letting outside clubs and community groups use what should’ve been a community facility was not an option. The problem? Drainage. Poor drainage at the site combined with a wet Pacific Northwest climate created a mud pit each year, and the need to replant the field annually (at no small expense to the district). The district turned its hometown community bank–Kitsap Bank–for what seemed an impossible ask. They were in need of funds and faced with a very tight timeline. However, it was a good cause and Kitsap Bank knew it had to help. The Bank acted quickly to donate the needed half million dollars. It was simply the right thing for this local community bank to do. #causegood

This video captures the hometown spirit that infused this project throughout.
