AAA Superheroes Campaign: When a member is stranded on the roadside, there’s nothing more relieving than seeing the headlights of The AAA Guy approaching. This is why our drivers so often hear, “You’re my hero!” The entrant created this integrated campaign to celebrate our drivers as “superheroes” and capture the feeling a member has when being rescued in their time of need. For the print and outdoor pieces, it was important to us to use photography featuring real AAA fleet drivers in action, in real Seattle and Eastside locations; not only did this make the ads feel more authentic, but it also created a lot of excitement – and especially pride – among the drivers. The big, bold headlines add to the “superhero” feel as well.
The radio campaign continues the “superhero” theme and has the same aims, but uses a more comedic tone, showing that we don’t seriously consider ourselves heroes… even if our members do. Each spot presents members in a harrowing situation, who summon a AAA superhero to come to the rescue.
